As the title said, this has been the best week I've had since this past summer.
First off, I got my letter from SIUE a few days back and I've been accepted. :D
I ran around my house showing it to everybody.
My PE class took a trip to the YMCA and we did the rock climbing wall. We were supposed to do the High Ropes course, but it was outside and it was pouring rain all day. Miranda, Katie, and myself sat in the back of the van driven by our teacher, I had brought my cd's and luckily the teacher likes the same bands, so there was no argument from the other students when Mrs. Hall said "We're listening to this Def Leppard cd right here". Katie was the only one of us three to make it to the top, Miranda and I kept trying but never made it. On my last try I got within a few feet of the top but lost my balance and fell. Then we had to leave so I wasn't allowed to try again. :(
I finished Desiree and got a full 1% extra credit in French, now I'm almost finished with another book as well, Hollow Kingdom. Goblins and elves and magic, Oh my!
My freshman, Emily, and I have been considering a trip to Borders soon. We both want to get the same book.
My cousin gave me his guitar for helping him clean his room. ;-D
I have a book that teaches basics of playing a keyboard. :D
My mom sold a hearing aid yesterday, ending her few week long spell of no sales. So she'll be getting more money in her paycheck.
It's been an overall good week, or at least the best in awhile. :-P

Heheh, last night I had to express myself to a friend and it's a little pathetic, but all I could think of to perfectly describe it was a quote from the end of Hitch.
Mrs. Thebus got us our copies of The Scarlet Pimpernel today, so I've had it playing for awhile. I still want to get a real copy of the dvd, and a copy of the book. The 1982 version of the movie with Anthony Andrews in the lead is the one I really want, but I may try seeing the more recent one as well.

Crazy school days
The past few days have been hectic. Most of the big projects or reports in my classes have been due, like my research paper, the ENORMOUS binder filled with various applications, packets, and brochures for JILG, my book research project for English, and various papers for Shakespeare.(Along with a few different unit tests. Luckily the tests for Shakespeare are pretty easy for me, and Othello was an amazing play so I didn't have a hard time remembering specifics of it.)
Once it gets to Ten O'clock at night I've been switching over to my dvd player and re-watching Labyrinth(yes, every night. I like the movie THAT much. And people wonder how I can pull random quotes from it at a moment's notice.). Other than that I've been sticking to the Discovery Channel, the History Channel, Comedy Central, and every now and then Cartoon Network for an episode of Goosebumps or Family Guy.
Shock of the century, I've forced myself to start wearing a bit of eye makeup nearly every day. It's getting to the point where I'll need to wear it more often, so I'm getting myself used to it. If I have an extra two or three minutes before catching my bus in the morning, I'll slap on some eye shadow/mascara/eye liner and that's it. So it's not much different from what I'd normally do. It's surprising how many people have said something about it. I know why most of the people I talk to think I am doing it, but they'd never mention it so I haven't said anything.
I'll be going on a school trip to the YMCA next week, we'll be doing the High/low ropes courses, and luckily it will take most of the school day. I'll only miss JILG, Shakespeare, and English, so there won't be much trouble in making things up.
A few bad things have happened as well, first of all my dog Bella died on saturday. She was hit by a car in front of our neighboor's house. My dad set up a burn pile and burned her body, they scraped up the ashes and buried them the following morning. Luckily her puppies are old enough to eat solid food.
next, my mom was in a car accident this morning. She was on the interstate and she had stopped for traffic, a woman came up behind her at nearly full speed and smacked our car dead center on the back end. Of course, it shoved the car forward into the car in front. Luckily my mom wasn't hurt too badly, she has a pretty bruised up clavical(collar-bone, bruised by seat-belt wearers when they're in an accident, sometimes broken if enough force is put on them)and a pretty nasty bruise running up her spine, but aside from that just a few bumps and bruises. The car was completely totalled, and sadly, it looks like the woman who caused the accident doesn't have any insurance. Yay.
Now we have one car having the engine replaced, a truck that is falling apart, and.....nothing. We can't afford a new car so my mom will have to start using my dad's car when it's out of the shop, and unfortunately for me that means even if I do get a job, I won't be able to get to it. The truck doesn't have any break lights or turn signals, so I can't drive it.
That's about it for this update.

Kevorkian forever!
I'm currently working on a dialogue for French class, it's between Dr. Kevorkian and a patient who comes in to see him. The patient is slightly sick, and after hearing that Mrs. Crabs has a back ache, Dr. Kevorkian decides she is too far gone and must be put down. My partner is the doctor, i am the patient. (Yes, i know it really isn't like that with what Kevorkian does, but we needed something interesting for it and a doctor killing a woman with a cold and crabs... is pretty interesting.)
It's a pain though, I need a ton of extra verbs and I'm not exactly sure that I have the word order right...If i ask the teacher tomorrow she'll help me with it, then we'll practice it for the presentation later in the week.
I finished my paper on Video Game Content, and I must say, it's pretty damn amazing.
I have a vocabulary quiz in Anatomy tomorrow, which means I should get around to studying for it. I've started working on the next section of my story for Creative Writing, it's coming along better than i thought. Luckily I just have to type up my English logs and submit them to Turnitin.com, so I don't have to worry about writing those in class anymore.
The JILG project is proving to be quite a pain in the butt as we get further in. I still have some of my stuff to get, and none of the places I need to go are open while I'm in school.
Good news as well, once my dad gets a new truck, I get his old car. This is good since my brother just payed for it to be fully repaired, including new engine parts. All i'll have to do to clean it up is bring it somewhere to have the interior cleaned really well. There is no way to get the ground in smoke and dirt out without industrial strength cleaner and a crapload of cleaning equipment. My dad never took good care of that car.
We finally got rid of our horse Kiss as well, he was moved to his new home yesterday.
I've decided that the only two musical episodes of shows that I really enjoy are the episodes of Scrubs and Buffy.
The musical episode in Xena was okay, but it wasn't as addictive.
And those are the only ones I remember a lot about, so they're the only ones I really consider. ;-D (My mom and I watched every episode of Buffy, Xena, and Angel together, my brother remembers them too. He did a Xena-yell a few months back, right after he threw an AOL disc across the room and it did a trick of Xena-like proportions)
Also, the book Desiree by Annemarie Selinko is addicting. "The bestselling novel of Napolean's first love".

Oh well, I can deal with it if it's a wonderful book. :-D

If only, if only.
If only life were more like a good movie, where everything always works out just fine. In a movie world, you conveniently run into whomever you need to talk to at the time in a random place, and know exactly what to say to make everything all right. In a movie world, holding a boom box over your head and playing your favorite song for somebody makes everything better. Or, my favorite, you happen to run into a random movie star/singer and they help you make it all better.(If you get the last two references, you get a cookie. Shouldn't be too hard to do though...)
Unfortunately, real life is more like a slap in the face compared to that. People you were once close to don't even want to talk to you, people who have been your friends for a long time decide that you're not worth talking to, and no matter how much you may be crying on the inside, nobody seems to notice or care.
Anywho, I'm going to Preview SIUE on Monday, my mom was originally supposed to come but apparently my dad really wants to go. So, he'll be bringing me, and he'll even let me drive there!(He never likes it when other people drive him anywhere, since his last accident when somebody else was driving he's become paranoid. This is going to be the first time in over a year that I'll be driving him ANYWHERE.)My hair will be re-dyed tonight so that it looks nice on Monday, and I even plan on wearing a bit of makeup to look a bit less scruffy. (Don't get excited, it's just the plain old eyeshadow and mascara that I usually wear when I have to wear makeup.)
I got to play Jenga for the first time in years in PE the other day. The other two people I was playing it with are two of my remaining 'friends'. Katie and Blake. Katie was the 'daredevil' that kept pulling out random blocks on the bottom of our tower, and Blake and I would play it as safely as we could so that the tower didn't kill us. Our game lasted over a half hour, and eventually it got to where none of us were sitting, and we'd examine the tower from every angle before we tested each possible block to pull out. The bottom half of the tower was layer upon layer of a single block, Katie had pulled all the others out. Eventually it toppled on Blake though, the teacher was getting angry that our game went on so long. (Hey, when you get an amazing game of Extreme Jenga going like that, you have to see it through to the end. You can't just abandon your tower and let it fall when moves can still be made!)
I'm enjoying my permanent retainer as well, I love not having to take it off before I eat.
